The Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology Research Group of the University of Ioannina is a newly founded multi-disciplinary research group dedicated to the application of nanotechnology and nanomaterials to biology/biotechnology, pharmacology and (patho-) physiology.
The NNRgUOI was launched in 2018 by the joint collaboration of the laboratory of Physiology (Faculty of Medicine), the laboratory of Biotechnology (Department of Biological Applications and Technologies), the Ceramics and Composites laboratory (Department of Materials Science and Engineering) of the University of Ioannina and the Renal Unit of the University Hospital of Ioannina. The group brings together chemists, biologists/biotechnologists, nutritionists, clinicians, and material scientists and develops collaborations with academic institutions and industries nationwide and worldwide.
NNRgUOI aims to develops state of the art nanobio-formulations and nanostructures for the early diagnosis and treatment of metabolic disorders.
